370 Riverside Drive
New York, NY
Constructed in 1922, 370 Riverside Drive is a 14-story, brick and terra cotta, Georgian Revival style apartment building designed by Schwartz & Gross. The building is located within the Morningside Heights Historic District, designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2017.
At the time of designation, virtually all of the building’s historic wood single and paired, six-over-six, double hung wood windows on the front facades had been replaced with aluminum windows and the presence and condition of historic brick molds was unknown. LSA’s scope included field survey and photo documentation; targeted research; preparing a quantitative matrix of 688 windows; and preparing a Conceptual Master Plan for window replacement. LSA's Master Plan was approved by LPC Commissioners at a Public Hearing. Final window shop drawings based on LSA's design are currently in progress.
