Li · Saltzman’s work on the 36,000 square-foot Wooster Street property, located in the SoHo Cast-Iron Historic District, included all phases of design, contract documents, and construction administration for the conversion of this loft building into eight luxury condominiums, including a 5,000-square-foot rooftop addition for two duplex penthouse units.
The project involved a complete exterior restoration and interior rehabilitation. Historic architectural cast-iron and heavy timber elements were restored and juxtaposed with contemporary steel and wood staircases, stone fireplaces, kitchens, and baths. The transparency of the new glass and aluminum penthouse provided a light-filled contemporary addition to the rooftop.
